2nd Meet (UTA)
Hello fam and friends! As promised I'm back with an update. Today Trecey competed at University of Texas at Arlington throwing the discus for the first time this season. She finished 1st with a best throw of 180 feet twelve feet from her career best mark of 192 ft 4 inches. Not bad for the first competition this year. LONDON SHE'S COMING! Thanks for your time. God Bless!
First Meet of 2012
Well Trecey opened up the season this past saturday at the Louisiana Classics Meet hosted by University Louisiana at Lafayette. It was her first time competing unattached from former her NSU Lady Demon Track and Field Teammates but it helped that they were there also. She only threw the shot out, saving the discus for this weekend at UTA. Eventhough she won, Trecey's performance was not what she expected. Every since the meet she has been drilling, watching film, and practicing trying to correct her mistakes. The wrist is still a very big pain in the butt but it will not stop this journey, Trecey has too much fight in her to quit now. Well friends and fam I will be back later this week to update you with the results from the UTA meet and whats going on with TEAM REW-HOOVER!

Catching Up
Hello friends and family! I'm sorry for the wait our family has been so busy with me coaching 2 sports in season, Trecey training and competing, and Rie has started praise dancing and playing Tee-ball again. However; the dream is still alive and team Rew-Hoover is moving towards London Olympics. Well let me catch you up on whats been going on. With only a internship to finish Trecey DROPPED OUT of Grad school! Yes I know, WTH! (lol) but that shows her dedication to this dream. She has also started two a day practices to get more work in. Rie is growing up so fast, losing teeth left and right (lol). She is so excited about starting praise dancing, i guess thats the end of our dance battles at home. Meanwhile I'm still holding it down at the alma mater trying to inspire at least one student a day. Our family has been blessed with love, faith and guidance from our heavenly father. So please continue to pray for our strength to keep up with these schedules.

A Helping Hand
God knows how to give you a sample or a little hint when something big is going to happen. Days ago, Trecey receives an email from USA Track and Field letting her know that she made the list of athletes that will be getting funding to compete and different meets this spring. These are some of the biggest meets for professionals and they're taking care of her air fare and room and board fees, now that's truly a blessing. These meets are from California, Oregon, Arizona, Iowa, and I can't leave out New York City! Also included in this may be a visit to the USA Olympic Training Center. As you can tell I'm excited about this and so are Trecey and Cherie. This may be the spark that gets her professional career going because who knows what endorsements may come if she has good performances. I believe God has a plan and will see to it that she has everything she needs. I honestly think Trecey is really focused on what she has to do to make the team. She's been going through drills whenever she gets a free moment. For instance, Last night she drilled her shot put steps at my parents house, at the Chinese Food restaurant while I ordered take out (lol), and in our living room after dinner. I tell her all the time I've never met a female athlete so dedicated, focused and passionate about competing. At times she complains about the wrist not being 100% or she doesn't want to work out but in the end she fuels her engine and there she goes. So, I end this post with the scripture tattooed on my arm: Galatians 6:9 " 9And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not" KJV. Thanks again for your time and supporting my wife. God Bless!

The Intro
Hello, first I would like to say Thank God for allowing this blog that is dedicated to my beautiful better half, my wife Trecey Rew Hoover. Trecey, the 2011 Collegiate National Discus Champion, is currently a semester away from obtaining her Master's Degree with a perfect 4.0 GPA while training for the shot put and discus events for the 2012 Olympic Trials for the Summer Olympics Games in London. If you haven't heard anything about her it's because she is so humble giving God all the credit for her work (he deserves it) as she continues to tell me stop my boisterous ways. Before naming this blog I searched for the definition of the word "trials" to see what I found and it was defined as "the act of trying, testing, or putting to the proof." and I thought that was interesting because in the five years i've known my wife (married 26 days now) she's been tried, tested and she continues to prove that she deserves everything God has blessed her with. We all go through trials and tribulations but the hurdles in front of her to fulfill this Olympic dream are probably on the highest level. Questions surround her about agents, sponsonships, and when or where to intern to finish her education along with being a full-time soccer and tee-ball mom to our six year old daughter Cherie. In this blog I plan to take you on the ride through and to the trials as she goes through training, injuries and fundraisers to get to the top of the podium. God bless
